Funeral services for Minnie O. Anderson, 87, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Anderson died Monday, September 4, 2017, at Genesis, Silvis, with her family by her side. Minnie Gosa was born September 9, 1929, in Sulligent, AL, The daughter of Charlie and Flora Green Gosa. She married Lyle Smith in 1963. He died in 1995. She later married Melvin “Andy” Anderson in 1997. He died in 2002. Minnie was an entrepreneur at heart. She succeeded in many business adventures and was the best at finding and making deals. She owned and operated The Silver Saddle and the Brown Owl, East Moline, owned many rental properties, and sold Mary Kay Cosmetics. She had been a member of the American Legion, Eagles Club, and the VFW. No matter where she went, she knew someone. She never knew a stranger. If you stopped to see her, no doubt you would find her getting ready for a yard sale, working in her vegetable garden, or pruning one of her many flower beds. Above all else, Minnie loved and cared for her family. Survivors include her children, Linda (Dennis) Teichman, Colona, IL, and Stacy (Ty) Simmon, East Moline; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Tim) Nordholm, MN, and Bobbie Boover, MS; and brother, Kenneth (Mable) Gosa, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and 9 siblings. Memorials may be made to the family. The family would like to thank the team at Genesis Silvis, and the caring team at Hope Creek, East Moline, for comforting and caring for Minnie in her time of need.
