Albany - Mrs. J.E. Litel, the mother of John B. Litel, stage and motion picture actor, and a prominent resident of Albany for many years, died Wednesday [Feb. 17, 1937] in her winter home at Long Beach, Calif., according to word received here. She had been in poor health for several years.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Litel are well known through this territory, both having held offices in the Bank of Albany. Mr.
Litel was president of the institution for a number of years. For many years they spent their winters in Long Beach, but returned to Albany for the summer.
Formerly Ella Beach, Mrs Litel was born in Footville Feb. 5, 1854, and was married to James E. Litel, also of Footville.
Survivors are her husband; three children, Mrs. Oscar Ady., [Josephine]/Mrs. C. L. [Charles L.] Johnston, and John B. Litel, who is a moving picture actor; one grandson, Jimmie Ady and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Parmley. All live in Long Beach. Burial will be made in Long Beach.
