Mrs. Leah (Gillette) Crafts, 80, of Kentfield Road in Whitingham, died Thursday morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington. Mrs. Crafts was born July 9, 1903, in Whitingham, the daughter of John and Blanche (Goodnow) Gillette. She attended Wilmington High School. Following her marriage to Pliny G. Crafts, she taught school in Wilmington, Searsburg and Readsboro. Mrs. Crafts had lived in New York City for 30 years and had been employed by Abraham Strauss Co. while residing there. She and Mr. Crafts retired to Whitingham in 1962. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marion Malone of Hollywood, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Cora Davis of Whitingham; a grandchild; a great-grandchild and one niece. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Covey and Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in West Dover. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
