Kayla Lynn Mullins, 24, of Winchester, Virginia passed away while living in Costa Mesa, California on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Irvine, California.
Kayla was born in 1993 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of Ray and Tracy Mullins. She attended Musselman High School, Inwood, West Virginia. Kayla was employed at Dainese Motorsports. Over the last 10 years, Kayla would spend her summers helping her Pap with his decorative concrete business, Customized Concrete Designs. She also enjoyed welding in different capacities, both as a hobby and as employment. She loved motorcycles, ATVs, fishing, and just being outdoors. Kayla enjoyed all genres of music and loved her dogs, Toby and Dixie. She participated on a softball team in California and volunteered to work for all types of programs in any way she could help. On Mother’s day in May of 2017, Kayla was baptized at the Saddleback Church in California.
Surviving with her parents is her big brother, Tyler Munson of West Virginia; maternal grandparents, Deborah Propst of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; Steve and Laura Munson of Martinsburg, West Virginia; paternal grandparent, Bertie Mullins of Winchester, Virginia; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends; and a very special friend in California who became a Godmother to Kayla, Cheryl Kauffman.
Kayla was preceded in death by her grandfather, Freddie Mullins.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Winchester Church of God, 2080 N. Frederick Pike, Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Dr. Darrell Waller officiating. Entombment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA, 22601, to help the family with final expenses. Please write “Kayla Mullins” on the memo line of the check.
