Floyd Lee Lane

Floyd Lee Lane was born August 29, 1936 in Conroe, Texas and went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2011. His clever wit and subtle quiet sense of humor brought laughter and joy to all. His encouraging words will be greatly missed. His devotion to his family was evident through his compassion and generosity. God was first in his life from the time of his youth. Family was a very strong second. He loved his wife of 55 years, companions in everything they did. He adored his children and grandchildren. His happiest moments were with family he loved so dearly.

Floyd Lee graduated from Jefferson Davis High School where he played varsity football and his Senior year was named All-City and All-District. After high school, he attended Rice University and played football from 1955 to 1959. After graduating from Rice University, he worked as a Financial Advisor at Rohm & Haas for 30 years until he retired. After retirement in 1990, he enjoyed antiques and traveling as hobbies.

He was admired and respected for his strong ethics, morals and professionalism. He was a man true to his words. Floyd Lee was proceeded in death by his father, Robert Floyd Lane; his mother, Charlotte Helton Raby and brothers Robert Lane, Kenneth Ray Lane and Larry Helton Lane. He is survived by his wife, Ann of 55 years; daughters Tanya Lane Webb and Tamara Lane Vandagriff and son Robert Larson Lane. Other survivors include son-in-laws Medford Lee Webb and Russell Allen Vandagriff; daughter-in-law Felicia Lynn Lane; grandchildren Jason Alan Webb, Dusty Eve Welch, Richard Sean Rogers, Robert Larson Lane, Jr., Ashley Lane Webb, Timothy Roy Lane, Holly Nicole Morris, Jordan Lee Lane and Julia Ann Kelley and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Central Assembly of God; 4405 Crenshaw, Pasadena, TX 77504 at 6pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Funeral service will be at Central Assembly at 10am on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Interment immediately following at Forest Park - Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023.
