Married Margaret Ruth Price Holbrook Apr 2, 1949Mr. Charles M. Holbrook, 90, of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Charles was born in Bartow County, GA on March 28, 1929 to the late Mr. Warnie and Flora Holbrook.

Charles was a hard worker who loved his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make jokes. He served his country in the Army and enjoyed telling stories about his time there. Charles retired from General Motors after many years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Charles was a devout Christian and loved his Savior He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Margaret Holbrook, children; Toby Holbrook and Laura Crider, and granddaughter, Trina Holbrook. He is survived by his wife Odessa Gravley Holbrook and her children, Jerry (Sylvia) Gravley, Joy (Allan) Early, grandchildren; Duane (Becky) Gravley, Lesley (Jay) Slaughter, Kristen (Richard) Kearney, and Matthew (Sharon) Early, great grandchildren; Wes, Avery, Shelby Jo, Savannah, Noah, Evie, Mellie, and Michelle, Charles’ and Margaret’s children; Warren (Beverly) Holbrook, Stanley (Cindy) Holbrook, and Gary Holbrook, daughters; Ann (Frankie) Pratt, Tammy (Eddie) Fisher, and Connie (Ricky) Gregg. Many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survive to cherish Charles’ memory.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at eleven o’clock in the morning. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Kingston. Serving as pallbearers will be: Chris Gregg, Aaron Holbrook, Jason Holbrook, Steve Holbrook, Jonathon Teems, and Trey Fisher. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Cory Holbrook, Jimmy Hyde, and Mathew Early.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from five o’clock in the evening until seven.
