It is with great sadness that the family of C. W. Cooper announces that Charles "Chuck" Cooper, husband, father and brother, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years on Friday, September 1, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lily (nee Rey), his three children, Dona, Charlie and Connie Cooper from his first marriage to Betty (nee Cragen) who died in 1978, his sister Dorothy Kendall in Albuquerque, three stepchildren, Evelyn, Liz and Michael Rey, and his four grandchildren, Russell and Mark Cooper and Michael and Alissa Rey. Born in St. Louis Missouri on April 8, 1923, Chuck grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from the University of New Mexico. He was a Navy officer during World War Two, then began working as a mechanical contracting executive. He started his own firm, Cooper and Cooper, in El Paso in the 1960s and was proud to work on the Thomason Hospital (now the University Medical Center of El Paso) and the El Paso Civic Center. Chuck continued in the mechanical contracting field until his retirement.A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Chapel Service at 12:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home West. A Graveside Service will be at 2:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services Entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West 128 N. Resler El Paso, TX 79912.
