Carl Edward Mills Sr was born on December 27, 1898 in Tennessee, the son of C C Mills and -- (Vaughn) Mills Charles Conrad "C C" Mills (1865-1930) and his 1st wife Willie Lovenia (Vaughn) Mills (1866-Jan 1899). [Although his Death Certificate has his birth date as December 22, 1899, when he registered for the World War I Draft, he gave his birth date as December 27, 1898 and signed his name Carl Edward Mills. However, the 1900 census has him as 1-year-old Carlos Mills.]
He was married to Margaret Carter (ca 1910- ), the daughter of William P Carter and Lottie ( -- ) Carter.
Working in the credit department of Montgomery Ward and living at 1100 Russell, Nashville, he was 35 years old, married and had Hodgkins Disease when he died died at Nashville General Hospital on February 22, 1934. Burial was the next day in Spring Hill Cemetery.
