Born August 4, 1938 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Laurabelle (Gushwa) Stingley. Laura graduated from Rossville High School in 1956.
Her marriage was to James Prough on September 29, 1984 in Lafayette. He survives.
Over the years, Laura worked as a bookkeeper for Hainje Oil, Von Tobel, and Westminster. She was a member of Battle Ground United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, needle work, and was a wonderful seamstress. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling, and belonged to the Lafayette Bowling Association.
Surviving along with her husband are two sons and two daughters, three siblings, Katherine LaFon, Mary Tillford, and George Stingley, all of Lafayette.
Preceding her in death with her parents are six brothers, Bill, James, Arthur, David, Vernon, and John Stingley; and three sisters, Dorothy Stingley, Grace Rohler, and Ellen Stingley.
