Maude Maddox Atkins, 92, of Gower, died Friday, April 1, 1988, at her home.
She was born near Gower where she attended school and grew up. Miss Maddox married William Barnhill. After their marriage, they farmed near Easton. He preceded her in death in 1918. She then married Ora Atkins. They lived in Gower where they made their home. He preceded her in death in 1937. After his death she made her home in Gower.
Surviving are: three daughters, Margaret McClelland and Georgia Reed, both of Gower, Genevieve Moore, St. Joseph; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchild , and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery, near Gower. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Gower.
