Sterling Showalter
Sterling M. Showalter of Skmania died Sept. 25 in Columbia View Manor at the age of 77. He operated a bicycle and washing machine repair shop in Washougal from 1945 to 1952, was the former custodian of Skamania school. He had lived in the Prindle area since 1945.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 28 at the Swank Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Edward Hastings officiating. Vault interment was in Washougal cemetery.
Mr. Showalter is survived by his wife, Ethel of Portland; sons Clyde L. of Wishram and Gerald S. of Portland; brothers Everett of Portland and Archie W. of Long Beach, Calif.; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The deceased was born Feb. 8, 1885 at Shelby, Ohio.
