Leslie Duane Lawrence, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017. He was born October 30, 1934 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, son of the late Earlie Lawrence and Opal G. (Headrick) Luker.

Leslie retired from Motive Parts Company in 1994. He was an avid craftsman, carpenter and mechanic. Les was a member of the Mooresville American Legion Post 103, proud supporter of America’s veterans and member of National Geographic Society.

Leslie is survived by sister, Leta Lawrence; nephews, Dale Buchanan, Larry Silcox, II (Merci); nieces, Kathy Hornberger (Rick), Karen Mallozzi. Leslie is preceded in death by sister, Peggy Ann Bennett.

Visitation Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home – 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
