Born Feb. 28, 1909, in Clarion County, she lived in Brackenridge the past 75 years.
Mrs. Barr was a graduate of Clarion Normal School, now Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
She was a licensed practical nurse and worked private duty for various nursing homes in the Valley.
Mrs. Barr was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Brackenridge, Daughters of the American Revolution, Grand Army of the Republic, was an air raid worker and judge of elections for many years.
She enjoyed presiding over local Veterans Day celebrations, crocheting, knitting, traveling, cooking, baking and reading poetry.
Survivors include a son, Richard W. (Virginia) Barr of Harrison; a daughter, Nancy K. (Gene A.) Barnes of Lake Placid, Fla.; five grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Fye of Grove City and S. Eugene (Clara Belle) Fye of Rimersburg.
Her grandsons are, Rick and John (Angie) Barr, and Robert (Caroline), Fred (Lucy) and Douglas W. (Heidi) Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell W. Barr, in 1960; her parents, Harry E. and Martha M. Johnson Fye; three brothers, Edward, John D. Fye and an infant brother, Harry Fye; and two sisters, Lucille Pugh and Alda Christian.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Her pastor, the Rev. Alyce Weaver Dunn, will officiate.
Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
