Dr. Lillian R. Welsh, formerly Principal of the High School at Columbia, now of the Women's College, Baltimore, has been appointed by Mayor Hooper of Baltimore, a member of the Board of Public School Commissioners of that city, being one of the appointees who succeed old member of the Board, they having been recently deprived of office by the Mayor. Dr. Welsh is a daughter of the late General Thomas Welsh, of Columbia, and is a graduate of the Millersville State Normal School and the Women's Medical College, of Philadelphia. As Principal of the Columbia High School she acquired a well deserved reputation as an educator. Four years ago she removed to Baltimore, where she has gained considerable prominence.
