CAUSE OF DEATH:
Gunshot wounds. Officially, April failed to come home from Carl Sandburg High School and was reported missing by her father, Edward Ashley. Six days later, a motorist found April deceased along the shoulder of 161st Street and 88th Avenue in Orland. She was found a block from the nearest home, fully-clothed yet was missing her coat and purse. She had been shot in the chest and abdomen. Police believe she was shot first and then thrown from a moving vehicle.
