Ben was married to Sarah Elizabeth "Eliza" Cones in Sangamon Co., IL April 13, 1850.

Eliza remarried after Ben's death to William Thomas Hobbs.
Sarah Elizabeth "Eliza" Plunkett Hobbs , died May 11, 1891 and is buried at Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, Phelps Co., Nebraska.

Wm Thomas Hobbs is buried Turner- Wilcox Cemetery, Menard Co., IL died May 20, 1875

Ben was the son of John Houston Plunkett and Elizabeth Purviance Plunkett.
