Antoinette graduated from Rahway Senior High in 1971. After graduation, she received a Bachelor of Art in History and Secondary Education from Rutgers University and Douglas College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She also earned an M.P.A. from New York University Graduate School of Public Administration in New York City and an Executive M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Antoinette joined Progressive Baptist Church in Rahway, New Jersey at an early age and later, she became a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. After moving to Milford, Virginia, she later joined Saint John Baptist Church. She was a very private, loving and devoted sister.
Antoinette was employed by Bell laboratories as human resources manager; Lucent Technologies as marketing communications manager; American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) as contract manager and Motorola as senior analyst.
Prior to her declining health, Antoinette enjoyed playing tennis and bike riding. She continued to watch her favorite sports on television tennis, basketball and football.
In addition to her parents, George H. Thomas and Fannie Walker Thomas, Antoinette was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Thomas.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory; a brother, Van H. Thomas (Clarice) of Bowling Green, Virginia; three nieces, Tamara Thomas and Tameka Thomas-Bowman (Alphonse) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Candace Thomas (Will) of Baltimore, Maryland; one aunt, Ida Walker of East Orange , New Jersey; two great nephews; two great nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Saint John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery
