On June 3, 1961, Floyd married Carol Ann Bailey at a Lutheran Church in Englewood, Colorado.
Floyd has lived in Macksburg for the past thirty-three years. Prior to that he lived in Denver, Colorado and Indianola. Floyd drove a truck for ADS (Advanced Drainage Systems). He also worked for the Macksburg Farmers Coop for several years and was a janitor for the Macksburg School. Most recently he owned and operated the McKinney Cafe in Macksburg for fifteen years, His hobbies included fishing, hunting and playing cards.
Left to mourn Floyd's passing are his sons: Floyd McKinney, Jr., Macksburg; Robert (wife Alexis) McKinney, Macksburg; Todd McKinney, Des Moines; Troy McKinney, Macksburg; Wade (wife Kelly) McKinney, Winterset; Eight Grandchildren; One Great Granddaughter; his mother-in-law: Shirley Bailey, Macksburg; his half-brother: Charles Stuart of Colorado, and his half-sister: Amy Stuart of Colorado.
Preceding Floyd in death were his parents; his Wife, Carol in January, 2006; Sister: Judy Easton in 1990: and two daughters in infancy: Sheila and Donna.
