Note: According to the St. Lawrence County, NY probate records of Jonathan Goodale he died July 6, 1844 in Fowler, St. Lawrence County, NY. It states: "the said widow and children removed to the State of Illinois or the Territory of Wisconsin about two years since but that the place of residence of the said widow and heirs after diligent inquiry cannot be ascertained...". Jonathan was the husband of Subrina, they had the following children: Henry, Elizabeth Ann, Mary, Devereaux, Susan and Nancy.
• Henry Goodale born March 5, 1811 in Jefferson County, NY; married Deborah Gould. She was born near Lorraine, Jefferson County, NY, daughter of Captain Nathan and Elizabeth (Curtis) Gould. Shortly after their marriage they came to Chicago and then locating at Fort Hill in 1842.; died January 12, 1856 in Waukegan, Lake County, IL; buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Waukegan, Lake County, IL. His children were Loviston E. Goodale (1842-1862) and Deveraux Goodale (1846-1867). On September 17, 1867,Deborah married David W. Arnold as his second wife.
• Elizabeth Ann Goodale born about 1814 in Jefferson County, NY; According to the 1860 Federal Census Elizabeth lived with her nephews, Loriston and Deveraux in Goodale (Grant) Township after the death of their father Henry who died in 1856. In 1867, their mother, Deborah, married David W. Arnold.
• Mary Goodale born 1818 in Jefferson County, NY; died December 12, 1855; buried in Fort Hill Cemetery, Round Lake, Lake County, IL.
• Devereaux Goodale born 1818 in Jefferson County, NY; married (1) Arathursia Childs (1816-1851) between 1838-1840 in New York, died in Wauconda, Lake County, IL and buried in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside, Lake County, IL. (2) November 6, 1854 in Springville, UT, Mary Dorcas Warren (1833-1855) and she died soon after giving birth, (3) Alice Fisher (1842-1879). Deveraux was one of the early settlers and an innkeeper of Goodale Township, named after him in 1849. He promised to donate a meeting hall but left the area for the West. The township name was changed to Grant Township in March 1867 in honor of Ulysses S. Grant.
• Susan Goodale born January 7, 1821 in Jefferson County, NY; married Februrary 19, 1846 in Avon Township, Lake County, Jehiel Compton of Volo, born in Seneca County, NY on February 3, 1820; died August 15, 1857; buried in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside, Lake County, IL. The children of Susan and Jehiel were Henry, Lysander, Dewitt, Ada and Mary. After Susan died Jehiel married her sister, Nancy Goodale as his second wife. Jehiel was the Justice of the Peace, Supervisor and Assessor of Grant Township, and a member of the Old Settler's Association. He was also an insurance agent owning 121 acres in Wauconda Township and 40 acres in Grant Township.
• Nancy Goodale born August 3, 1822 in Jefferson County, NY; married August 26, 1858 Jehiel Compton in Grant Township, Lake County. Jehiel was the husband of her sister Susan; the child of Nancy and Jehiel was Susan; Nancy died May 14, 1893; buried in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside, Lake County, IL; after the death of Nancy it's possible that Jehiel Compton, age 80 in 1900 was married to Jane Compton living in Avon Township. Jehiel is buried in Grant Cemetery, Ingleside, Lake County, IL.

According to the 1850 Federal Census, Subrina Goodale, age 64, living in Goodale (Grant) Township with her son, Henry and his wife, Deborah and grandchildren, Loriston and Derrant; and also Subrina's children Eliza, Mary and Nancy.
