Linda Louise Marek Quinn, a constant learner, wonderful teacher, and a selfless mother passed away at 73, on August 24, 2017.

She is preceded in death by parents Clarence Thomas and Emma Troutman Marek, husband, Allen O’Neal Quinn, and son, Matthew Marek Quinn.

She loved to study and learn, earning a PhD and two Master’s Degrees from the University of Tennessee, and two Bachelor’s Degrees from Indiana University.

Linda worked as a college professor at Knoxville College and Maryville College, as well as a teacher and a counselor in the Knox County School System.

Her faith was unwavering, and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she had a strong conviction and testimony.

She held many positions in the church, and was an integral part of the church’s early growth in this area.

Linda is survived by her 2 sisters, Patricia Zahrt (Bill) and Joan Matt; her children, Christopher Quinn (Maggie), Christine Quinn (Tasha), Elizabeth Quinn (Adam), Allen O’Neal Quinn II, her 9 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Linda will be remembered for being a loving and caring mother, a smart and diligent worker, and a charitable servant to those in need.

She will be laid to rest in the East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery (5901 Lyon’s View Pike) with a brief graveside service at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
