Tommie Lee Harris, Jr., affectingly known as "Skeet", was born to Tommie Lee Harris, Sr. and Catherine Thompson Harris on December 31, 1966 in Columbus, Mississippi. He made his transition to eternal peace on Monday, September 5, 2016. He accepted the Lord as his savior at an early age and united with the Concord C.M.E. Church.
He was educated in the New Hope and Columbus Municipal School System. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1986 and received an associate degree from East Mississippi Community College. He honored his country by serving in the United States Navy, U.S. Army National Guard and the 658th Quarter Master Company U.S. Army Reserve unit where he was active at the time of his transition. During his time in the service he completed deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Skeet was united in holy matrimony to Katetria Yvonne Jackson on
His work history included Bryan Foods and employed with Nissan North America, incorporated of Canton, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Thompson, Sr. and Ruthie Mae Brown Thompson, his paternal grandparents, Willie James and Florence Phinizee Harris all of Columbus.
He leaves to cherish memories: a loving wife, Katetria; his parents; son, Quincy Harris, of Biloxi, MS; daughter, Taylor; Stepson, Christopher Jackson; stepdaughter, Dyesha Jackson, all of Columbus, MS; two brothers, Damon Harris of St. Cloud, MO and Darryl (Samantha)Harris of Columbus, MS; sister, Terrica Chandler of Woolbridge, VA; mother-in-law, Betty Jackson of Columbus, MS; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Jackson and Brianna Jackson of Columbus, MS; brother-in-law, Sedrick (Talisha) Jackson of Columbus, MS; two granddaughters, Leyah Jackson and Adalynn Jackson of Columbus, MS; two godsons, Martin Sherrod and Styvis Latham of Columbus, MS; nephew, Ahmad Harris; niece, Morgan Chase; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
