Lynn R. Martin, 85, of Akron, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg.

He was born in Reading to the late Chester A. and Blanche (Diehm) Martin and was the husband of Marian D. (Hornberger) Martin with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

He was an active member of Grace EC Church in Akron, where he was formerly the director of the choir, a youth group leader and a member of the bowling team.

Lynn was a sales representative for New Holland Supply before retiring. Since retirement he has worked part-time at JB Zimmerman and Royer's Pharmacy. In earlier years, he enjoyed golf, playing cards, especially the game of ROOK, and other sports. He also enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette music. He was a devoted husband, father and loyal friend.

In addition to his wife, Lynn is survived by 3 children, Jeffrey, husband of Dawn (Wenger) Martin of Ephrata, Bruce Martin and spouse John Haney of Lancaster, Susan Martin of Akron; 4 grandchildren, Matthew, husband of Shanon Martin, Mark, husband of Katie Martin, Michelle, wife of Cesar Santiago, Shane, husband of Kylie Weaver; a special cousin, Bruce, husband of Ruth Ann Weaver and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 9 siblings, Anna Weaver, Paul Martin, Miriam Gerhart, Virginia Eitnier, Ethel Stauffer, Marion Kramer, Jane Weidenhammer, C. Bruce Martin and Phyllis Bezler.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Grace EC Church, 101 N. 7th St., Akron followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM with Reverend David Swift and Reverend Leslie Cool officiating. Interment will take place in the Shillington Fairview Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions in Lynn's memory may be made to the Grace EC Church, 101 N. 7th St., Akron.
