Johnnie Sweatman, 88, died at home Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 11:45 p.m. He was born January 30, 1929, in Chidester, Arkansas. He has been a resident of South Louisiana for 61 years where he worked hard and built his business, Sweatman Chainsaw Company.

Visitation will be held at the Thibodaux Funeral Home June 15, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A later visitation will be held at the Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR, with burial following at the Little Missouri Cemetery in Chidester, AR. Services in Arkansas are pending.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy Lee Stinnett; son, Connie (Frankie) Sweatman; daughters, Sharon Bourgeois and Pamela Clay; granddaughters, Shawn Bourgeois Gautreaux and Shannon Bourgeois Lafont; grandsons, Jamie Clay, Tony Clay, Tory Blanco, Frankie Lee Sweatman, Johnny (Joe) Sweatman, and Eric Sweatman; great-granddaughters, Jacqueline Gautreaux, Ella Sweatman, and Caroline Sweatman; great-grandsons, Bryce Lafont, John Gautreaux, Colt Sweatman, and Cohen Sweatman; and brother, Charles Farr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Connie Shell Sweatman and Elsie Hindman Sweatman Merritt; and brothers, Bobby Sweatman, Harold Sweatman, and Jervis Sweatman.

Thibodaux Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
