Norman Leon Maxwell, 60, of Hutchinson, died Jan. 19, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1939, at Wichita, the son of Ernest A. and Rowena P. Amerman Maxwell. He graduated from Partridge High School in 1957. A Hutchinson resident since 1986, moving from Partridge, he was a farmer.

He belonged to Partridge Community Church, the Loyal Order of Moose No. 982 and the Hutchinson National Rifle Association.

ON Oct. 2, 1960, he married Sandra Van Derbur at Kingman.

Survivors include: a son Scott, Grand Junction, Colo.; a daughter, Charlotte Lattimer, Lyons; his mother, Rowena P. O'Hara, South Hutchinson; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and stepfather, Carl O'Hara.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Pamela J. Tinnin presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, both at the mortuary. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the Cancer Council of Reno County, both in care of the mortuary.
