Gregory C. Peterson
January 22, 1952 - August 13, 2017
Gregory C. Peterson, age 65 and residing in Pocatello, Idaho, passed away, due to natural causes on August 13, 2017. Greg was born on January 22, 1952 in Clearfield, Utah to Quincy and Beulah Peterson. Not long after his birth, they moved to Bicknell, Utah where he grew up with his two siblings, Weston H. Peterson and Debra A. Nielson (Peterson). While growing up in Wayne County, Utah, Greg was a very hard worker. He labored in the fields picking up potatoes, helped his many Aunts and Uncles on their farms and worked in a local sawmill with his Dad. When not working or going to school, he loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting as much as he could. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1970 where he excelled in academics, sports and Drama club. He loved basketball and baseball. Greg was very proud of being an Eagle Scout and also attended Boys State. Later in life, he became an Engineer with the Union Pacific Railroad and enjoyed working there for many years until he retired. He was a proud member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; survived by his brother, Weston (Rachelle) Peterson and his sister, Debra (Bradley) Nielson, along with his nephews, Jason (Kelsey) Winn and Travis (Kelsey) Winn and great-nieces, Jasey Ryan Winn and Kaisley Marie Winn. As per his wishes, he was cremated and a memorial will be announced for a later date. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends he cherished in life.
