Obituary:
Shallotte: Don E. Morgan, 84, of Shallotte, passed away on Aug. 18, 2016. Don was preceded in death by his adoring wife of 56 years, Shirley Rasche Morgan; his sister, Patricia Morgan and his parents, Frank and Cecelia Gockel Morgan.

Don is survived by 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren, 4 siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Don was born in Hayti, Missouri on June 20, 1932. He graduated from Central High School, Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1950 and received his BS and MBA from the University of Missouri. He served in the US Army Reserve.

He had fulfilling careers with Celanese and Freudenberg Pellon in Industrial Relations and Human Resources. Don, affectionately known as OGO, CRS, was an avid gardener, a lousy golfer and an enthusiastic basketball wage placer. He was an engaged citizen and a true patriot.

Private burial service in Cape Girardeau will be on September 16, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NC Sheriffs Association.
