Ricky (Rick) Bradford Sherrill, age 64, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed peacefully in his home on August 30, 2017. He received his gift of Heaven after a long battle of terminal illness. Rick was born on March 24, 1953 to Kenneth and Helen (Hanan) Sherrill in Shattuck, Oklahoma, Ellis County.

He was raised on the family dairy farm in Arnett and attended Arnett Public Schools. He enjoyed band, baseball, and recess. After high school he attended business school in Oklahoma City. In 1972, he graduated with a certificate in office machines. He was offered a job right after graduation with TG&Y in management. That started and continued his employment in the grocery and retail business, along with owning and operating Sherrill Supermarket. On January, 17, 1981, he married the love of his life, Sheena Kay Bullard. On July 25, 1989, they were blessed with Carissa Nicole Sherrill. In 1991, the family moved to Enid where Rick worked for Wonder Bread as a route salesman. On December 14, 1994, the family was complete with the birth of Courtney Renee Sherrill. He then finished his career with Wonder Bread until retirement.

Rick was a member of Garriott Road Church of Christ, and he was Deacon of Encouragement. He was baptized in October of 1964 at Arnett Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen Sherrill; grandparents, Ralph and Elsie Hanan and Clarence Amos and Maud Sherrill; nephew, Gentry Sherrill.

He is survived by his wife, Sheena Sherrill; 2 daughters, Carissa and Reginaldo Hernandez of Ames, OK, and Courtney and Deonte Flowers of Enid, OK; brother, Randy and Diane Sherrill of Arnett, OK; sister, Dayon and Eddie Smith of Broken Arrow, OK; sister in law Vickie and Jim Evans of Branson, Missouri; brother in law Mike and Yulonda Merry of Woodward; 3 grandchildren, Abbigiel Hernandez, Carter Hernandez, and Cobe Sherrill; and many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Some of Rick’s favorite things were: football- high school, San Diego Chargers, Pittsburg Stealers, and OSU; baseball- New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburg Pirates, and Los Angeles Dodgers; football player- Barry Sanders; baseball players- Mickey Mantle, Roger Mavis, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Thurman Munson, Paul O’Neill, Derek Jeter, Willie Mayo, Roberto Clemente, Al Kaline, Willie Stargell, and Sandy Koufax; baseball managers- Billy Martin (Yankees), Joe Torre (Yankees), and Joe Maddon (Rays/Cubs); music- religious, rock-and-roll, and Branson groups; bowling, golf, music, concerts, sending cards, being around people, and spending time with kids and grandkids.

The funeral service for Rick Sherrill with be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Garriott Road Church of Christ, with Ray Rose officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM in Debolt Cemetery in Arnett, OK with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
