Thelma E. Trinkle, 97, of Linton, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Parkwood Health Care Center, Lebanon, Ind. Born in Martin County, on April 3, 1912, she was the daughter of Frank and Nancy Harriett (Roberts) Inman. She married Robert Trinkle on September 12, 1941.

Thelma was a waitress at Jack Klusmeier's Restaurant. She also worked at the shirt factory in Bedford, where she met her husband, Bob. After their wedding she helped operate the Greene County License Bureau, which was owned by her husband. She was also a homemaker for many years. Her last employment was when she owned and operated Thelma's Café in Linton for 15 years. She retired to her home in Linton in 1979. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Linton. Church was very important to her. She taught Sunday School class, sang in the choir and helped during Vacation Bible School. She was a Past President of American Legion Post #22 Ladies Auxilary and PBW Assoc. in Linton. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, shopping, reading and spending time with family. If family or friends were in need she was always there to lend a hand.

Surviving family includes a daughter, Nancy A. (Bill) Autrey of Lebanon, IN; Shirley Kay Kretchen of Mesa, AZ lived with Thelma and Bob for a number of years; two grandchildren, Tracy Lea Autrey of Lebanon, IN and Kerry Wade (Erin Cannaday) Autrey of Indianapolis; three great-grandchildren, Brendan Douglas, Madalyn Louise and William Joseph all of Indianapolis; one sister, Vivian Bennett of Lebanon, IN. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1980; four brothers, Lannis, Gladys, Carl and Glen Inman; six sisters, Lillie Marshall, Vonnie Davis, Grace Loree, Eva Inman, twins Marie Moriarty and Mary Inman.

Condolence cards may be sent to Nancy Autrey and family at 1955 SR 32 W., Lebanon, IN 46052.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.

The service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
