Wesley Robert Mason, 90, passed away on August 30, 2017. He was born September 6, 1926 in Port Clinton, OH and retired from the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator, having served in three wars: World War II, Korea and Vietnam. All three sons and two grandchildren followed in Lieutenant Commander Mason's footsteps in the US Navy.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy; oldest son, Jeffrey; and two siblings: Charles 'Bud' Mason and Marlene Corey. Survivors include his three sons: Craig and his wife, Tricia, Kevin and his wife, Debb, and Kurt and his husband, Tim; sister, Shirley Kemp; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was an amazing grandfather to his four loving grandchildren: Kyle, Jessica, Michael and Hannah. He enjoyed every moment that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Armed with a dry sense of humor, he was a prolific collector of uncollectable items.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM, September 1st, 2017 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4085 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to DAV, VFW or other veteran organization.
