Frank "Frankie" Edward Long, son of Edward Charles Long and Mattie Lee Long, was born August 16, 1942 in Baltimore City, Maryland. He entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2017 at his home in Aiea, Hawaii.
Frankie lived enjoyed his life in Washington, DC., until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1981, and served twenty five years. During his tenure in the Marine Corps, he was presented with, “combat Action Ribbons, 3 Meritorious Unit Commendations, Good Conduct Medal (8
Award), Meritorious Mast, National Defense Service Medal (1 Star), Vietnam Service Medal (4 Stars), 2 Letters of Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (w/Palm), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Arctic Service Ribbon, Over Seas Ribbon, Rifle Expert, Pistol Expert, Navy Commendation Medal. He concluded his military service as a Master Sergeant, E8.
Frankie, Leaves to cherish his memories, a loving devoted friend, of 28 years, Kayoko Kinjo; 2 sons, Edward Long, and Marcus Long, of Washington, DC., nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Uncle Lonnie Long of Washington DC, and aunts, Maxine Yarber and Dorthea Pridgeon of East Orange, New Jersey.
Viewing Service is Private. Burial service open to public on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
