On August 29, 2017, Christine Carr Hill left this world to join her savior, Jesus, in Glory. She met Him peacefully attended by her husband Charlie Roscoe Hill of 71 years and family members. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her adoring children Nancy Hill Webb, Pam Hill Slothaug, Randy Hill, and Rusty Hill; grandchildren Jessie Hill (Gall), Hannah Hill (Johns), Braden Hill, and Kayla Hill (Burrell); and great-grandchildren Harrison Robert Gall and Garrett Russell Gall.
She was one of those mothers who makes a house a home where all the other kids want to come and play. She was a marvelous cook known for years for the after Church lunch where she graced our eager mouths with roast beef and gravy, homemade biscuits, green beans, cucumbers, cantaloupe, sweet tea, pickled peaches, and banana pudding, among her many delicious offerings.
She will be missed for her gentle sense of humor, her sincere love for her family, church, and friends; and her sense of commitment. She was sure of her salvation and knew her release from this world was near, but she was not afraid. Praise our Lord for such divine assurance! All who wish to share their appreciation for this fine woman are invited to join her family as we say goodbye to her physical body and comfort one another with the knowledge that she has received her Heavenly reception.
Viewing, Thursday, 6-8 PM, August 31. Funeral service is Friday, September 1st, at 11:00 AM at Castellaw Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton Mixon and Dr. Randy Cheek officiating.
