Linda Ray Gregg, age 59, of Greeneville, died at her home Wednesday morning surrounded by her family.

Linda, who was a housewife for many years, was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends and was described as “mother hen”. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed and has been promised to never be forgotten. She was the heart of the family.

Survivors include her companion for almost 26 years: Gilbert Hahn; children: Anthony and Jessica Gregg, Dillion Hahn, Marcia Richards, and Phillip Hahn; grandchildren: Storm Foshie, Maddox Hahn, Tyler Lipton, Josh, Eric, Allison Dosher, Ayanna Hahn; great-grandchildren: Alaris, Gabby, Chance, and Nathan; three special nieces and nephews: Keith Gregg, George Allen Gregg, and Danielle Gregg; special niece and caregiver: Linda “Diane” Wampler; six brothers: George, Sam, David, Rankin, Michael, and John Gregg; two sisters: Teresa Valentine and Nancy Carter Goodstein all of Greene County; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Barbara Gregg, Diane Gregg, Lori Gregg, Vernon and Ann Hahn; several nieces and nephews.

She was a daughter of the late Francis and Tulin Holt Gregg and was preceded in death by a daughter: Carmen Hahn; two brothers: Bill Gregg and Fred Gregg; two sisters: Betty Valentine and Shirley Carter; two nieces: Carolyn Wilburn and Brenda Crum; one nephew: Andy Carter.

The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Jackson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Nathan Valentine and the Rev. Jeremy Seaton will officiate. Interment will follow in Jackson Chapel Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes before the service.

Active pallbearers will be Bilbo Valentine, Sambo Valentine, James Johnston, Josh Dosher, Eric Dosher, and Nathaniel Crum. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Gregg, David L. Gregg, Tyler Thompson, and Cody Wilburn.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
