Jerry Rollins, 33, of Cincinnati, IA, (formerly of Powersville, MO), died in a one-vehicle accident in Wayne County, IA, on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

Jerry Dean Rollins was born in Unionville, MO, on November 12, 1983, the son of Terry and Sharon (Shriver) Rollins. Jerry graduated from Putnam County R-1 High School in 2003. While in High School in participated in football (where he earned Honorable Mention All-Conference defensive lineman) and FFA for four years. Jerry continued to work with his Dad in the family farming operation. He had previously worked with Eddie Tipton at Tipton Farms and with the Jerry Fetters farm. Jerry was also provided transportation for the Amish the last several years. He also hauled horses for the Amish to and from various horse sales all over the country.

Jerry was a likable fellow and never met a stranger. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He loved to visit and tell windy stories with his friends and family. Jerry loved children and enjoyed teasing and having fun with them. He always wore a smile and had lots of friends. He loved his family. Jerry was an avid hunter, especially deer and turkey, and was an outfitter for hunters who came to Putnam County from several states.

Jerry is survived by his fiancé and companion of four years, Mary Mikulecky, his son, Samuel Rollins, and his daughter, Alexis Rollins (daughter of Monica Myers). He is also survived by his father, Terry Rollins and wife Sondra of Allerton, IA, and his mother, Sharon Rollins of Powersville, MO and by his sister, Kerri (Brett) Spitzer of Savannah, MO. Jerry’s surviving grandparents are Larry and Lois Rollins of Powersville, MO, and Doyle Shriver of Unionville, MO. He is also survived by step-brother Trevor Wilson and step-sister Jasmine Rew, as well as a host of friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Shriver, and three uncles.

Funeral services for Jerry Rollins will be at the Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 11:00 am Friday, September 1, 2017, with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 31. Interment will be at the Powersville Cemetery, Powersville, MO.
