Billie June Biehle, age 92, passed from this earthly life on August 29, 2017, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Billie was born on June 1, 1925 in San Gabriel, Texas to Len (L.L.) and Myrta Ellen (Baird) Locklin. She lived all her life in Texas, most of that on the family farm in Milam County, a place that was always a slice of heaven to her. She also resided in surrounding communities including San Gabriel, Thorndale and Rockdale. For many years, Billie was an accredited medical records technician and traveled across Texas to assist her clients. She was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star and worshipped faithfully at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale and the United Methodist Church in Lexington.
Billie was preceded in death almost 40 years ago by her husband, Slim (Augustus A.) Biehle. She is survived by their two sons, Jerry Biehle and his partner, Marianne Clay, of Kingsland, and Greg Biehle and his wife, Susie, of Austin; six grandchildren, Jerry’s two sons, Paul and his wife, Jennifer, and Russell and his wife, Tina, all of Lexington; Greg’s three sons, Justin, Cameron and Jackson, all of Austin, and daughter, Katherine, of El Paso; four great-grandchildren, Paul’s children, Hunter and Macy Jane, and Russell’s children, Allie and Mason, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale North Austin, Billie’s dear friend, Edna, and hospice providers for the support provided to the family and, most especially, for the love and care provided to Billie in her final days.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Billie’s five grandsons (Paul, Russell, Justin, Cameron, Jackson), great-grandson (Hunter) Honorary pallbearers are great-grandson Mason Biehle, Tom Guthrie and Tim Henke.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, from 5-8 PM, at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale, Texas. Services will be Friday at 11 AM also at Phillips and Luckey. Following the service, Billie will be laid to rest beside her husband, Slim, in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Rockdale.
