The son of Thomas and Sara Gibson Owens, he was born in Casey County on March 7, 1886.
For years Mr. Owens had traded in horses and cattle and was well known in Pulaski and surrounding counties.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Cotter Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Max Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Somerset City Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Mae Owens; five sons, Harry Owens of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Leslie Carrell, Glen and Thomas Owens, Jr., all of Cincinnati; three daughters, Mrs. Zelda Moore and Mrs. Louise Tilman, both of Covington and Mrs. Beatrice Knocklemann of Cincinnati, and a host of friends.
