He was born October 8, 1964 at Charleston Memorial Hospital in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Gerald Wayne Black and Irene Marie Verhey Black.

Survivors include three brothers, Michael Black, Mark Black and Rondel (Angie) Black; one sister, Tammy (Chris) Cripps; six aunts, Judy Budd, Kathie (Jerry) Beasley, Sharon (Randy) Howe and Brenda (Loyd) McComas; aunts, Ruby Leudeman, Martha Gross and Elizabeth Melton; three uncles, Roger (Debbie) Black, Larry Black and Jesse (Marian) Black; nine nephews; six nieces; three great nieces; two great nephews and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene (Verhey) Sharp; his father, Gerald Wayne Black and step mother, Roberta Black.

Kevin was a 1983 graduate of Casey High School. He was a hard worker and worked many places during his time on earth, mostly in the food service industry. Most notable would be Richards Farm and McDonalds in Casey. He was also a school crossing guard.

Kevin enjoyed riding his bike around town but his greatest love was cooking. You could always count on him to make his famous banana pudding for our family Christmas. He never made a bad batch of cookies either. Kevin was always joking around at any family gathering. In that respect, he was just like his dad. Words will never be able to describe how those that loved him felt about him. He will be missed by many but we all know that he is in a much better place now. You will forever be in our thoughts and memories.
