Betty was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved to knit and crochet and made many pairs of mittens and socks for her children, and the children of others. In her later years she made pillows with hand stitching until she had to give it up due to failing eyesight. Betty was known for her love of children of all ages, her home and her heart always had room for one more. Her legacy lives on, not only in her own children, but countless more whose path she crossed.
She is survived by her eight children; Michelle LaFountain and Stan Friend, Julie and James Miller, Amy and Darin Muir all of Dallas, Texas, Leni and Pat O'Donnell of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada, Billy and Christa LaFountain of Smithers, British Columbia, Canada, Andrea Held, and Mark and Tammy LaFountain, of Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada, Alice and Steven Shepard of Corpus Christi, Texas, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, two sisters, Martha Hutchins of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and Phyllis Elliott of Denver, Colorado.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill who died in June 2013, her brothers Len T. Williams of South Burlington, Vermont, Hubert W. Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Clinton J. Williams of Marion, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
