Carl Oscar Erickson Jr.

Carl Oscar Erickson Jr. was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1929.  He attended public school in New Haven and graduated from the University Of New Haven. He served his country for six years in the Naval Reserve and resided in Durham, Connecticut until 1990 when he moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida after retirement.

Carl was an independent insurance agent for many years and owned Coan & Bunnell Insurance Agency in New Haven. He was a volunteer at the Durham Fire House, member of the Durham Exchange Club, and delivered Meals on Wheelsfor 14 years in Melbourne, Florida.

In his retirement years he was an avid golfer and wood carver.

Carl was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Carmieta (Atkinson) on June 24, 2013.

He leaves behind his son Rick (Kathy), his daughter Susan, grandchildren Heather Erickson, David (Khara) Erickson, Brian Erickson, Sarah (Marshall) Cox, and William Brunosson; two great grandchildren Hudson Thorpe Cox and Molly Louise Cox.

Carl's Funeral Mass will be on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3780 Highway A1A, Melbourne Beach, Florida.  He will be laid to rest with his wife at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
