CORNETT, JOYCE SLONE,
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on March 3, 2015 at the age of 92. Born January 19, 1923 in Pippa Passes Kentucky she has lived the past 47 years in Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nick and Susie Slone, and by her brohters Sidney and Emil Slone.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 70 years Bill Cornett, daughters Pam Phelps (John), Terry Cornett (Debbie), and Donna Phillips (Paul), four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters Clova Sparks, Juanita Boorman, Chelsea Slone, Allyne Johnson, Mary Dobson and Cathy Proffitt along with many niece and nephews.

She graduated from Alice Lloyd College (Caney Creek College) and taught school before she became a devoted wife and mother. She was a long time member of Parkland Baptist Church where she developed many deep and lasting friendships. She loved to bake, quilt, crochet, read and play cards. She was most happy spending time with family and friends. Joyce was known as a loving, kind and generous person by everyone who knew her and we will miss her.

Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.

Services will be held at Parkland Baptist Church, 2706 Shepherdsville Road, Louisville Kentucky 40219, Saturday March 7, 2015 Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. with the funeral following at 3:oo p.m. Burial will be private.

Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Okolona have been entrust with Mrs. Cornett's arrangments.
