LINCOLN --- Eric Georgi, 37, of Lincoln died at 4 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 18, 1993) at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, following a car-semitrailer truck accident in southwestern Illinois Tuesday. A story is on page A3. His funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lincoln, the Rev. Don Beckman officiating. Burial will be in [Old] Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln.

He was born June 1, 1956, in Lincoln, the son of Walter F. and Charlene Parks Georgi.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Charlene and Harold C. F. Jeckel, Lincoln; two sisters, Michelle Georgi, Lincoln, and Sarah Jeckel, Springfield; one brother, David Jeckel, Lincoln; and his maternal grandmother, Marie Parks, Lincoln. His father preceded him in death.

Mr. Georgi had been employed as a photographer and pharmacist in Aspen and Denver, Colo. and currently as a pharmacist at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and St. Louis College of Pharmacy and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. Mr. Georgi was a Lutheran. He was an avid outdoorsman and a former member of the Lincoln Jaycees.

Memorials may be made to the Eric Georgi Memorial Scholarship Fund.
