Eugene R. Riley, 89, formerly of Greentown passed away on August 27, 2017. Eugene was born in Canton, Ohio on December 2, 1927 to the late Edgar and Helen Riley. He was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School class of 1945, served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from Ohio Bell. Eugene was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Preceded in death by his wife Jo-Anne Riley. He is survived by daughter Sheila (Kenneth) Herbold; sons Craig (Dawn) Riley and Mark (Kathy) Riley; grandchildren Jeremy and Zielle Herbold; brother James (Elizabeth) Riley and sister Marie (Clayton) Smith. Funeral service will be at 1 PM on Friday September 1, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON CHAPEL with Patrick Finley officiating. Family and friends may visit from 11-1 PM prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place at Greentown Cemetery.
