Son of the late J.D. and Mary Charles (Sis) Stewart Yates. Survivors: sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and Jim Miles of San Diego, California; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Pam Yates of Pensacola, Florida, Kim and Imogene Yates of Vonore, Tennessee; nephew, Jason Yates of Madisonville, Tennessee; great nephew, Lucas Yates; aunts and uncles, Lucy and Jim Curtis of Madisonville, Tennessee, Bill and Shirlynn Stewart of Maryville, Tennessee; close friend and cousin, Randy Curtis of Madisonville, Tennessee; numerous other cousins. Funeral 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Biereley-Hale Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Self and the Reverend Jarvis Bivens officiating. Interment 11:00 AM, Friday, September 1, 2017 in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, Tennessee.
