Mr. Chester Leon Barber, age 84, of 141 Dogwood Circle, Tallapoosa, Ga., passed away April 8, 2010.
Mr. Barber was born August 10, 1925 in Cedartown, Ga., to the late Oscar Lee and Shady Graham Barber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Azalee Easterwood, Velma Morris and Myrtle; and a brother, Venise Barber.
Mr. Barber is survived by his wife of 43 yrs, Betty Jean Barber, of Tallapoosa; two daughters and sons-in-law Vicky and Mike Talley of Carrollton and Patricia and Robert Cummings of Bremen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky Blackwelder of Fruithurst and Glenn and Patrice Blackwelder of Bremen; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister Mildred Eaves, of Carrollton.
Funeral services were held, April 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Rick Shirley and Troy Blackwelder officiating. Music was provided by Ashton Shirley and Glenn Blackwelder.
Pallbearers serving were Jonathan Talley, Shannon Talley, Joey Blackwelder, Junior Golden, Steven Golden, James Blackwelder, Mike Talley and Ronnie Howe.
Interment followed in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
