Natalie Jane Lawson, of Beckley passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017, of natural causes. She was 42 years of age.

Born on October 30, 1974, she was the beloved daughter of Jane Anne Shrewsbury-Lawson of Beckley and the late John R. Lawson (Deceased).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John Henry Lawson (Deceased) and Helen Serge-Lawson (Deceased); maternal grandparents, Thomas Shrewsbury (Deceased) and Eleanor J. Hulvey-McCauley-Shrewsbury (1921-1997); her uncle, Larry Lawson (Deceased); uncle and aunt, Blair Shrewsbury (Deceased) and Mary Beth Shrewsbury-Lee (Deceased); and her cousin, Matthew Lawson (Deceased).

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Sean Lawson; uncles, Bill McCauley and Rita McCauley, Michael "Mike" Vincent Lawson (B. 1948) and Rosemary Mays-Lawson (B. 1946), Tom Shrewsbury and Kim Shrewsbury; cousins, Erin, Jennifer, Kristine and Lydia.

Natalie was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Marshall University. She worked in Manassas, VA for Progressive Nursing and later settled in Baltimore, MD, working for Old Mutual Financial Services as the payroll manager.

In 2007, Natalie returned to Beckley to care for her father who was terminally ill with cancer, after his passing she decided to stay. Natalie had many friends who cared about her. She had a great love for music, immensely enjoyed going to concerts, visiting with friends, hiking and walking her Mom’s dogs who will miss her greatly.

Natalie will be remembered for her beautiful smile that she greeted everyone with since she was a little girl. She will be sadly missed.

The Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Melton Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mr. Harry Evans officiating. The family is receiving friends at 12:00 noon. The Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Sebastian Cemetery.
