William Dugan, 71, departed this life on August 16, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (McFadden) Dugan.

William was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 22, 1946 to the late Robert and Ida (Humes) Dugan. William was a long time resident of Middletown, Pennsylvania and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

A veteran of the US Army, among the decorations he received were the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Bronze Star Medals, the Air Medal; the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He continued serving the armed forces as a civilian mechanical engineer. William was dedicated to serving his community and spent over two decades volunteering as a youth soccer coach, Boy Scout Leader, and instructor for the Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults for the Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, William will be cherished in the memories of his sister Kay Davis; daughter Karin Mattei and her husband Adam; son Timothy Dugan and his wife Gabriella; son Stephen Dugan; and his grandchildren; Alyssa, Michael, Edward, Giuseppe and Elena.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford, CT. Entombment with military honors followed at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, CT. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford, CT was entrusted with the arrangements.
