Born in Buncombe County, he was the husband of Helen G. Edwards Lytle of Fairview, and the son of the late Fred Frye and Ilene Gracie East Lytle. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Henry Lytle, and his beloved dog, Buddy.
In addition to being a talented craftsman and woodworker, Wayne was also a past President of both the Fairview Lion’s Club and the Fairview Athletic Association.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Helen, Wayne is survived by 2 sons, Harvey Lytle (Wanda) and Herman Lytle (Susan); one daughter, Rhonda Pruitt (Jeff), as well as ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery.
