Carol Lou Kirkpatrick Gibson, 71, of Kanawha City, Charleston, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, at CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston after a long illness.
She was born August 19, 1946, and was a 1965 graduate of East Bank Senior High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Johnny Kirkpatrick and second husband of four years, Larry Gibson, father and mother; Charles and Edna Keith, brothers; Jack, Jimmy and Dwain Keith, aunts; Madeline Workman, Juanita Dyke and Reathel Wolfe.
She is survived by her son; John (Jennifer) Kirkpatrick, and only grandson, Johnny of Kanawha City; sisters, Etta Kees of Monroe, NC, and Glenda Smith of Reston, VA.; cousins, Ronnie Workman and Claudine Morton, who she loved as brother and sister; caregiver and dear friend, Stephanie Ward; several nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart; and also her dogs, Katie and Sassy, who she dearly loved.
Service will be noon Wednesday, August 30, at Cooke Funeral Home, 600 Old Fort St., Cedar Grove, with Pastor Brenda Gray officiating. Burial will follow the services at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call one hour prior to service Wednesday at the funeral home.
