Kenneth Edwin Lawrence, 84, of Bunker Hill, died on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Select Specialty in St. Charles, MO.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 21 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill with the Rev. James Lampley, officiating. Burial was in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill.

Mr. Lawrence was born on Aug. 30, 1932, in Bethalto, to Milliard Lawrence and Angeline (Lawrence) Lawrence. He married Sharon Faye Curry on Aug. 2, 1979 in Cottage Hills, and she survives in Bunker Hill.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, after serving during the Korean Conflict, and he was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Lawrence enjoyed working in his yard and garden, as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren, taking trips with them to Branson, and over the years, he also enjoyed taking trips with his wife, brothers and their wives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Steven (Wendy) Lawrence of Paragould, AR, Melanie Root of Bunker Hill, Michael (Deana) Lawrence of Irving; grandchildren, Megan (Andrew) Stolz of Alton, Sierra Yost of Hillsboro, Dallas Lawrence of Irving, Randon Root of Gillespie, Matthew Lawrence of Searcy, AR, Rhyan Root of Gillespie, Holly Lawrence of Paragould, AR; great-grandchild, Kaizen Yost; siblings, Eugene (Verna) Lawrence of Bunker Hill, Vernon (Jeanette) Lawrence of Bunker Hill, Melvin Lawrence of Woodburn; sisters-in-law, Barbara LaCoax of East Alton, Dorothy Brown of Warrenton, MO;and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Green; sisters-in-law, Eileen Lawrence, Dolores Bechel; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Bechel, Max LaCoax and Alfred Brown and mother-in-law, Viola Curry.
