Daniel M. Baxter, 62, of Dafter, Michigan passed away August 25, 2017 at the EUP Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dan was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on May 11, 1955 to Sherwood and Gladys (Eling) Baxter,. On August 12, 1978, while serving in the U.S. Navy he came home to marry his wife, Donna Clark, at Rosedale Church. They then move to New Jersey where he was stationed to the Philadelphia Shipyards in PA. After 6 months they moved to Norfolk, VA where they lived until 1980 when he had completed his service

Moving back to the Sault he worked briefly at Forestply and then went on to work at Superior Fabrication for over 31 years. In 2014, he was awarded the Award for Distinction from the Board of Superior Fabrication for his dedication and hard work. It is a prestigious award only ever given out to a select few people in the entire company. Through his years working at Superior Fabrication, Dan acquired many lifelong friendships which he cherished.

In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time on the water, shooting his guns, and going to his cabin in Canada. Dan was known for his dedication and love for his family and friends. Most of all his was respected for his generosity, big heart and the ability to fix almost anything.

Dan is survived by his wife of 39 years, Donna, Daughters, Jodie Clark(at home) and Jill(Kevin) Weber, Granddaughters Kinsey Rae and Avery Elizabeth of Dafter,

MI., Mother, Gladys Baxter of Sault, MI. Sisters Jeri(Carl) Moll of Zeeland, MI. Nancy ( Ivan) Rosset of Sault, ON, Kris Baxter of Tecumseth, ON. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will take place at the C.S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 2 until 4 PM with services beginning at 4 PM with Pastor Bre Kinnunen officiating.
