George was born in Brooklyn, NY and came to MN as a young man to work as an engineer at the Fort Snelling Hotel, which was owned by his uncle George T. Harris. He was stricken with Consumption (tuberculosis) and was on his way to a sanitarium in Missouri when he passed away. His body was brought back to Minneapolis for burial. His wife, Matilda, later remarried Andrew Desmond and she is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. They had 2 children, my grandfather, Arthur Timson Taylor, and Olive Laura Taylor Dunbar. Timson is George's grandmother's maiden name.(Side note: George T Harris also died of consumption.)
